Probably we are all today increasingly live in a "second earth", a digital world that link and wire our existing planet earth (as well as its people) together, whereby in there every single "physical object and being" that exist is increasingly being translated into digital.
With digitalization of such massive scale, "almost everything" comes digital. Digital connectivity, digital living, digital discovery, digital interactivity, and digital society are some of the early forms of "new digital living" that forms this new emerging world, connectivity and society. Together they resembles a new nature and capabilities on how we act, interact, respond, react and live our daily living everyday.
The implications of the emergence of this "second earth" -- which is fully digital by nature -- for the next year and the next era to come is still unknown. Only as we eventually collectively shape it across time and space, we start to "know", "understand" and "discover" its full emerging consequences and behavior.
- A second earth -- a place where every society, information, work, interactivity and being is start being connected, linked and integrated without boundaries; a great place where every social object is integrated as one, and where every digital content is shared, casted, enriched, collaborated and truly made unified is soon about to happen.
- What would be its most natural impact and consequences of it for to our daily living, to our daily working, to the shape and form of our business, to the daily changing nature of our culture, to the daily working of our leadership form and growing nature of our society?.
- When all "rules" that currently existing in our current physical world that we live in suddenly becoming "totally-in-reverse" and felt "awfully strange" in the new digital world, we might not have the necessary tool nor mental model as individual nor society to fully cope with that. In the midst of this great progress, exciting discoveries and upcoming "uncertainties", it would then perhaps be interesting to put some thoughts, perspective and considerations in the shape, space and consequences of the digital world we are all about to live in.
- What would these changes really bring? In its outmost positive forms?
The implication of the formation of this fully-digital "2nd earth" probably would one day be remembered as "as significant", as important, and as impactful as our previous transition from traditional economy to industrial economy, as impactful as our transition from industrial economy to our information economy, as powerful as our transition from separated geography into web-scale "geography" (if geography is even still have a meaningful meaning in today's 2nd-earth-world that sense no boundary)".
Full understanding the potential power, impact and social consequences of the formation of 2nd earth one day might be truly important.
Perhaps, if we can start to understand the full new rule and logic (and new positive/negative consequences") of this "2nd earth", then perhaps we can all start crafting, creating and contributing something that would produce a much better shape, texture and structure for our greater society. Not only the current societies, but also for the great next future that is also about to come.
Through such insightful understanding, we might one day have better ideas of things that is about to come our way, things that increasingly will impact the form and shape of the "DNA" of our greater society. Things that might redefine shape, nature, "texture", feel and profile of our current society and our even better "future" societies.
It is through exploration of these, each and everyone of us might be able to see the whole sense and context of these in its most complete and truest perspective. Based on that, we -- and each one of us -- perhaps would be able to contribute our greatest contributions, ideas and act, to shape a better world for our greater, larger boundary-less, always-on, mobile, digital, well-informed, connected, integrated society.
