How to create your own Mac-version of netbook computer that are so popular these days? People say do this:

1. Buy Dell Mini 9 Netbook.
2. Replace the operating system with Apple's Mac OS-X.
3. Have your own personal MacBook ready. :-)

Be warned though, your’re building a Hackintosh and it involves bending the rules of Apple’s Mac OS X EULA to get to the promised land. At around $400 though, it does seem rather tempting.

Google Maps For Jakarta - Now Available!

Google Maps for the city of Jakarta is now (finally) available!

At the current moment, it doesn't have the complete feature -- for example -- as what I can use as when I was in LA since a few years ago (e.g. getting directions from one place to another is still being limited by 'unavailable' data & position information), but overall it shows a very promising start, that one day such capabilities also will become "soon" possible, hence when someone is in Jakarta for the first time, they can quickly and easily find their way around by studying and inspecting the map, instead of being totally get lost in the crowd, instead of having to rely solely on the excellent Gunthere Map.

The availability of such interactive city-map facility also i believe will open up many exciting possibilities of what would be powerful and possible into the future.

We will see how the future goes!

How (Most) People Would Naturally Communicate In The Very Near "Future"

It is no doubt that one day VOIP will rule. The whole world trend seems to focus towards that end.

Yet -- surrounding VOIP -- I always wonder why most VOIP communication device that is available in the market today tend to be in the form of a 'headset'. As a user of VOIP telephony system for quite a long time until now, I think a VOIP-handset with video viewing capability (as the picture shown) is more practical, easier and more natural to use, than the VOIP-headset model.

Perhaps the form-factor design will eventually change to perfectly matched the best ergonomics design even more, as we move greatly with such VOIP technology, into the future.

iWork 2009 - Now Powerpoint Is Totally Boring!

Give Apple Keynote a bit of a try, whip it for a zing and bang, ... and you'll know why I said Powerpoint is old, retarded, clunky, complicated, complex, uninspired, ... and totally boring. :-O

Sony Released Its P-Series Notebook -- Finally Arrive In Jakarta!

I read the news today that the Sony P-Series notebook finally arrive in Jakarta!
 
I think I'm gonna take a look. Would like to feel and see the potential how such form factor could be useful for daily activity and operational purposes.
 
One thing for sure: as it doesn't run Apple iWork, I will definitely miss running my presentation on this machine. So: definitely this will not be my portable presentation machine (unless, I do it using PDF version of it). But let's see other areas where such form factor might bring useful operational uses.
 
On the other side: trusted sources of information said that this notebook has an instant-on capability (hence enabling instant access to web and stuff, without having to wait for long boot time at anytime we need to use the system), it's wider screen size also being told to be useful as it allow us to see two web pages side by side conveniently and comfortably.
 
I plan to allocate sometime to take a look at it in real, give it a try and work on top of it in full, when the real physical product arrive in Jakarta, and to see whether such concept really works usefully and powerfully in reality, or just a 'fascinating' theory.
 
I really hope SONY is back, and find it's mojo back through real fascinating, useful, groundbreaking innovation in the marketplace. After all, that was what SONY product, leadership and brand was all about in the past -- some couple of years ago, at least -- during the reign of it's great legendary founder Akio Morita.

A fascinating vision about connected world of business -- an e-business -- which makes me excitingly join IBM in the past, and left IBM also a few years later, to make a new kind of innovative computing & innovative collaboration infrastructure (to share information & to conduct transaction) truly excitingly, greatly and fascinatingly happen.
