Virgin Oceanic -- Another cool innovation from Sir Richard Branson!

While exploration of space that Virgin initiate through their Virgin Galactic initiative is interesting, in parallel seems Sir Richard Branson also start entering another new and exciting segment: exploration of the deep water!

Nicknamed 'Virgin Oceanic', it aim to give people chance to "experience the beauty of the deep water in ways that can never be experienced before". So, if private and personal outerspace exploration seems still too expensive for many, this perhaps could be the next great alternative that even more people can explore!

Seriously cool!

iPad interface on an iPod device!

Someone at Cydia really did this. I think this is truly cool! Now, we can experience the 'look and feel' of the iPad ... while 'waiting' for the real thing to arrive in the next 2 or 3 months. :-)

The Apple Tablet is here! (It's called the "iPad") :-)

At first impression, surprisingly it seems not as magnificently beautiful as I thought it would really really be. :-) (Somehow I feel the frame around the screen is still a bit too wide -- perhaps I have seen too many thin mockups already -- hence the expectation skyrocketing a bit too high). :-) But at closer look, definitely it seems to be something that worth to consider, as the OS, and the software inside it is definitely better than other -- except in comparison to Palm latest OS, I guess. :-)

Perhaps I will consider to use (or choose) this Apple Tablet (a.k.a the iPad) as my portable e-book reader and portable presentation tablet. Something to carry around daily -- in companion to my MacBook Air (which is better at typing serious long text and at building presentation slides), iMac (which is better at displaying things bigger on bigger screen), MacBook white (which is useful for coding and Windows testing purposes) -- and of course, in companion to my first Apple PowerBook G4 (which is still a great computer to feel and to look at, even until today -- G4's screen, mouse precision and keyboard tactile feel is still the best until today).

I really hope the iPad battery last really long. If it can perform similar to the battery lifetime of the Kindle (e.g. can be used 2 weeks without charging), then it would be really really awesome.

Anyway, pretty nice start into the future. I guess Apple is seriously really (almost) make it great once more!

If the price is right -- means in between the price of iPhone and MacBook -- I am sure Steve Jobs is really going to create another great "latest creation" legacy for Apple and for the rest of the world. We'll hear what the exact price would be, later on. If it really is in between iPod and MacBook (or even lower -- a.k.a similar to the Kindle -- which I guess seems pretty likely), then it would be really really be truly awesome!

Steve Jobs is really is truly magnificent. He know what he's doing. And usually he really know too what the exact "right price" for his latest greatest innovative most beautiful creation should be!

Let's wait and see. :-)

Indeed Apple is a great and fascinating company once more!

First they create a great product. Then the financial numbers prove itself. It's totally in reverse to the awfully boring paradigm of 'corporate management practice' of running the numbers first, ... while let the product stays 'idiotic'.

Here's Apple Q1 result 2010. And do notice also that Steve Jobs's indeed start to "hint" people that something "new and exciting" is indeed coming this week. (probably it's an "iPad"/Apple Tablet everyone?).

Apple just turned in its Q1 financials, revealing that iPhone sales have doubled in the past quarter compared to last year, Mac sales are up 33 percent, and iPod sales continue to decline with an eight percent dip from a year ago. The company brought in revenues of $15.68 billion, good for $3.38 billion in profit, or $3.67 profit per share. That's up from last quarter's profit of $2.26 billion on $11.88 billion in revenue, and in fact, it's Apple's all-time highest revenue and profits. Steve sounds pretty pleased in the PR, and hints at far more to come: "The new products we are planning to release this year are very strong, starting this week with a major new product that we're really excited about." We're sure to find out more later on the analyst conference call, so stay tuned.

Now Palm start offering 3D games on their Pre platform!

Recently I visit Palm website, and saw them offering 3D games on their Pre platform. Their key offering includes all time favourites such as: The Sims 3, Tetris, Sudoku, Monopoly -- cool stuff that currently can not be done on a Blackberry!

I really think this is a great (mobile) computing platform to be reckoned with. I just wonder when they will eventually reach their well deserved market breakthrough.Perhaps Palm shall quickly make their mobile computing platform entirely GSM ready first. Then they will -- perhaps -- eventually reach their well deserved market penetration breakthrough.

Business and business man/woman that makes a great difference

I always admire Bill Gates for his accomplishment since the days of DOS and Windows. But the most staggering achievement that Bill Gates (and his wive Mellinda Gates) accomplish in their latter days of their "career" is this: to make the world a better place for all.

I always believe in the power of business, business people, business man/woman and company founders in their ability to -- one day -- make a great difference to the world and society as a whole. Again and again history shows that this indeed happen. Great business nurtured by great business man and business woman indeed eventually turns the world for the better.

In the world of technology, Steve Jobs did it with a string of magnificent products that enhances the daily lives of many, Akio Morita did it through Sony. Bill Gates -- in his later "career" -- did it through the Bill & Mellinda Gates foundation that they nurture.

Great business -- and great business man/woman with great attitude -- makes great things and great difference happen. And that's why we need more and more business to be nurtured. What I learned from my mother and father, whom words, wisdom and action always inspires me until today is: "It is never about the money. It is about what we can really try to contribute to society".

May more and more great businesses -- and more and more great business man/woman -- being nurtured and happen as we went into the future. That way, the world can perhaps eventually be better, as we all move together into the fascinating future.

Hilarious!, ... instead of seeing something similar to salesforce.com site (http://salesforce.com), you will find this: (see picture).

It says: "sales.com, no force necessary".
As usual, such "creative, imaginative, fresh, direct-to-the-point war statement" comes from ... Oracle!

Seems Oracle is really the "Muhammad Ali" of IT company "boxing" match. :-D

Firefox 3.6 has been released!

Firefox 3.6 has been released! I try it this morning. It feels lighter and better compared to version 3.5.

Beside being faster, and less memory hungry (just like the original Firefox when it was introduced few years ago), the new browser also introduced a new feature called 'persona'. Persona makes changing the browser's theme fast, convenient and easy. Simply browse the theme pages (It's called "Persona Gallery" http://www.getpersonas.com/en-US/gallery/All/Movers/4). Click on one that you love. And the browser's theme will change instantly.

Persona makes the browser feels personal. There are many selections to choose from. As of today, there are 30,000 selections to choose upon.

You might want to give it a try too!
